In the heritage-protected area of Mengeš, we designed a new residential house to replace an old, deteriorated roadside building. The design process had to satisfy the investor’s wishes and the strict requirements of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, which oversees construction in the historic centre. This project was our most legally challenging to date, as the initial administrative process involved as many as 120 stakeholders.
